Hollywood Fringe, Honestly
You’re thinking about mounting a show at the Hollywood Fringe Festival? Great, do it. After three years producing shows, two years performing in them and one year as a playwright, I’ve learned a few things and I want to share them.
The Hollywood Fringe Festival is part arts festival, part community. Community is something you contribute to, not just take from. As someone who loves this community, it’s time to give some of what I’ve learned back.
What I share below is my experience – this isn’t the way it should be done, but one way it has been done. My experience and observations of the festival are mine alone and may not fully apply to your production or situation. These are suggestions, not rules.
I’m also open to feedback and questions. Feel free to leave a comment or drop me an e-mail directly with any questions you may have about producing a show at the Hollywood Fringe. I love talking about it.
